1.  Attend a "Welcome to DEFHR" Orientation Session

Days End Farm Horse Rescue (DEFHR) holds "Welcome to DEFHR" Orientation Sessions twice monthly for individuals interested in volunteering with DEFHR. During this orientation, prospective volunteers are introduced to DEFHR's mission and unique relationship with animal protection agencies as well as take a tour of the farm.

DATES: Sessions are offered the second Saturday and fourth Tuesday of every month.

TIME: 10:00 A.M. and lasting approximately 90 minutes. Please be prompt, as sessions begin on time.

REGISTRATION: Registration is recommended.  Please email the names, addresses, phones & emails of ALL attending to with the date you’d like to attend.  If you are registering for children under 18, please include their age; a parent or guardian must attend orientation with children under 18.

LOCATION: Orientations are held at DEFHR's main facility: 1372 Woodbine Road, Woodbine, Maryland 21797

PARKING: Free parking is available on site, with spots reserved for handicapped guests.

WHAT TO WEAR: DEFHR recommends checking the weather forecast when getting dressed for a trip to the farm as you may be participating in activities outdoors. For safety reasons, guests are required to wear closed-toe shoes.

2. Complete and submit a Volunteer Application

All DEFHR volunteers must complete and submit a Volunteer Application prior to beginning their service hours.

3. Complete and submit a Volunteer Release Form

All DEFHR volunteers must also complete and submit a Participant Release Form prior to beginning their service hours.
