Volunteer and Horse Training Levels | Orientation | DEFHR Training Team
Volunteer orientations are held on the second Saturday of every month
at the DEFHR facility. (Check our Events
Calendar for
the next orientation!) All people interested in volunteering are required
to attend. The orientation is held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM and we ask that you wear either tennis shoes or boots to participate in the hands on segment. If you are
under the age of 18 you must attend the volunteer orientation with a
parent or LEGAL guardian so they may understand the rules and benefits
of volunteering
before you start. See some
volunteers working and having fun at Days
End and see the list of 2004 Volunteers through 8/14/2004!
Volunteer hours at DEFHR can be used to satisfy community service hours required for graduating high school students. Volunteers must be 12 years old or older to volunteer, unless accompanied by a parent. Parents of Youths under the age of 12 must work along side their child and supervise them.
- No horse experience is required.
- No pre-registration is required.
Here is the link to our Volunteer Application and our Release Form - You may print these forms and bring them with you to orientation. Youths under the age of 18 will need their parents signature on the forms as well as their own to begin volunteering. It is a requirement of our Insurance Company that both forms are filled out completely in order to begin volunteering. (You may download Adobe Acrobat here!) If you are unable to download the forms, they will be given to you at the orientation and you can bring them with you on your first volunteer day.
