Emmett arrived to us from Prince George's County as a stray stallion in December 2011. He ranked at a 3.5 out of 9 on the Henneke Body Condition Scale, had rain rot, extremely sharp teeth, and long hooves. He has since been castrated and has been introduced into our gelding herd. This boy is BIG and should make a very nice horse. We are looking forward to evaluating him under saddle once he has gained more weight. More information and udpated pic to come soon.

Royal came to us at the end of April 2011 as a starvation/neglect case from Prince George's county.  Royal ranked 1 out of 9 on the Henneke Body Condition Scale.  He had been locked in a stall where he was forced to stand and lay down on approximately 3 feet of manure and urine.  A ramp had to be built into the waste in his stall in order to get him out the door.  Once was out, we were able to see how badly his feet had been neglected.  They were long and curled, commonly called "slipper feet", from months if not years of neglect.  Royal is now at an ideal body condition of 1 out of 5 on the Henneke Scale, but is still undergoing intensive care to rehabilitate his hooves.  His comfort level is greatly improving and he has been enjoying daily turnout.  Larger herds seem to intimidate him and make him nervous, so we are working on finding him a friend or two so he can be a part of a smaller herd. More information to come.

York arrived to us in September 2011 as a neglect case out of Prince George's County.  He was a body score of 1 out of 9 on the Henneke Scale, riddled with tapeworms, had rainrot, and also severe diarrhea.  His diarrhea is an issue that we are still trying to overcome.  Hopefully we will be able to solve tis problem so he can move further along in his rehabilitation.
