Farm-Based Educator Internship

The Farm-Based Educator Internship Program at Days End Farm Horse Rescue (DEFHR) provides an opportunity to work with students ages 7-17 outside of the classroom, providing instruction in horse health, environmental awareness, equine care, and equine handling. This internship also provides the opportunity to develop curriculum and engage the community!

Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

This program is ideal for those seeking careers in outdoor education, physical education, farm-based education, elementary or secondary education, and equestrian instruction.

Interns during the summer months can expect to gain significant teaching and classroom leadership experience in an outdoor environment during DEFHR's Junior Legacy and Youth Legacy Programs.

Interns during the fall, winter, and spring can expect to gain experience developing curriculum, teaching DEFHR's homeschool series, visiting local schools, attending career fairs, and assisting in the execution of onsite field trips to DEFHR as well writing new, engaging lesson plans to get students out of the classroom and onto farms!
