SPRING BREAK PROGRAM! DEFHR invites youth to come to the farm over their spring break to have fun in our Legacy Breakout Program! It's a full day of horses and fun - including games on horseback.

Please Note: All youth wanting to volunteer at Days End Farm Horse Rescue (DEFHR) on weekdays during Summer break must be enrolled in DEFHR's Youth Legacy program or be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The Youth Legacy program is for volunteers ages 12-17 and is a great way to jumpstart your child's volunteer experience at Days End Farm Horse Rescue (DEFHR)! Enjoy a full day of learning, fun, and friendship at DEFHR!
Participants will learn about a variety of topics relating to horse care and handling, delivered through classroom instruction and reinforced through hands-on learning activities. Participants will also be given the opportunity to participate in one riding activity during each session.
A typical daily schedule includes:
- 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM : feeding and horse care
- 10:00 AM - Noon : barn chores
- Noon - 12:30 PM : lunch break (Youth should bring a packed lunch.)
- 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM : special topic educational instruction and activity
- 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM : feeding and horse care
- 4:30 PM - 5:00 PM : end of day wrap-up
Cost*: $150 per one-week session
Each session will accommodate only 30 participants per weekly session, so registering ahead of time is critical.
