A variety of educational clinics are available to novice horse owners or those looking to expand their knowledge of responsible horse ownership.
Each community education clinic provides participants with a better understanding of a single topic related to horse care and ownership; past topics have included:
- horse psychology
- recognizing illness
- first aid
- hoof care and disease
- dental care
Don't miss the 2017 Community Education Clinic program dates:
- May 13 - “Building a Bond through Groundwork” The clinic will be instructed by DEFHR's Head Trainer, Sara Strauss, and aims to help participants further their horse handling skills. Participation limited, advance registration required, $75 to register.
- November 11-12 - “First Time Horse Owners Clinic" This is a TWO-DAY clinic full of information from types of feed to breeds and first aid. Advance registration required, $50/day.
