Learning to identify parts of the horse

A variety of educational clinics are available to novice horse owners or those looking to expand their knowledge of responsible horse ownership.

Each community education clinic provides participants with a better understanding of a single topic related to horse care and ownership; past topics have included:

  • horse psychology
  • recognizing illness
  • first aid
  • hoof care and disease
  • dental care

Don't miss the 2017 Community Education Clinic program dates:

  • June 2 and August 4 - “Building a Bond through Groundwork” The clinic will be instructed by DEFHR's Head Trainer, Sara Strauss, and aims to help participants further their horse handling skills. Participation limited, advance registration required, $75 to register.
  • November 11 - “First Time Horse Owners Clinic" This is a FULL DAY clinic full of information from types of feed to breeds and first aid. Advance registration required, $75.
