Aspen Allure
13 Years Old
15.3 Hands
Bay TB
Mare

Aspen is currently being evaluated under saddle and is doing well. She most likely will need a confident intermediate rider. She needs a special someone to bring out her full potential and shine. In the field she gets along with all of her pasture mates although introduction was slow.
Adopted Summer 2005

Baby Boomer
33 Years Old
16.2 Chestnut
TB
Gelding
Boomer arrived at Days End in December of 2004 very underweight. He was signed over by animal control because he needs the specialized feeding the farm can provide. He is a very sweet older guy who loves attention and will probably be placed in the SOS program when he is fully rehabilitated.
Adopted Summer 2005

Baraka

Adopted Spring 2005

Beauty

Adopted Spring 2005

Briana
Briana is a sweet and quiet older mare that has been there and done that. She's very laid back and enjoys attention. She is a wonderful addition to the farm. You couldn't ask for a nicer, gentler mare.
Adopted Summer 2005

Cookie
25+ Years Old
14.2 Hands
Piebald Pinto
Mare

Cookie is every beginners dream pony, sound minded and safe. She is crossed trained (western and English) and remains willing to please (even in her elder years). Cookie’s sway back doesn’t affect her performance and will be ok doing light trail and ring work.
Adopted Summer 2005

Country
15 Years Old
16 Hands
Appaloosa
Gelding
Country arrived to Days End in January 2004 as a starvation and neglect case. After four long months of rehabilitation, the day finally came to ride Country and evaluate him under saddle. Needless to say, we at Days End have decided to keep him. Those who have ridden him, both staff and foster care parents, love his willingness to please and his endless potential under saddle. It was clear only after a few times on his back that Country was the next member of the DEFHR family.
Adopted Fall 2005
Dublin
25 years old
14.3 Hands
Bay TB Gelding

Dublin has the most wonderful ground manners and is an east going, gentleman. He’s been evaluated under saddle and did quite well, however, he’s still a bit rusty. With a little attention and patience, he would make a nice light riding horse for trail or pasture.
Adopted Fall 2005

Essence
7 Years Old
10 Hands
Bay Mini
Mare

Essence is still very timid and is learning to trust people. She gets along wonderfully with other ponies but is alpha in nature. She has no physical limitations, so with training will be able to be ridden or pull a cart.
Adopted Summer 2005

Fabio

Adopted Spring 2005
Good Golly
20 Years Old
16 Hands
Chestnut TB/Hanoverian
Mare
Good Golly came to us in 2000 when Montgomery County Animal control impounded 11 horses that were being neglected and starved. She was thin and pregnant when she arrived four years ago. She delivered a beautiful baby named Zephyr who has since been adopted. Golly later found a good home as well, but regretfully this year due to issues of there own, her adopted parents returned her to us as they no longer had the time to care for her. She cannot be ridden due to stifle issues, but would make a wonderful companion to another horse. She is as sweet and as laid-back as they come! Wonderful ground manners!
Adopted Summer 2005
Hannah
15 Year Old
15.3 Hands
Chestnut TB
Mare

Hannah needs an intermediate to advanced confident rider who is gentle on the reins. She has good ground manners but can be frisky at times when ridden. Hannah is very willing to work and enjoys affection. She is capable of doing light trail work only.
Adopted Fall 2005

Itsy
12 Years Old
10.3 Hands
Pinto Pony
Mare
Itsy is a very warm, friendly pony and loves to hang out with her sheep and goat friends at Days End. She does not have appear to have much previous training under saddle at this time and will need someone to bring her along. She is an easy keeper and longs for a new home of her own.
Adopted Fall 2005

Jo Jo
5 Years Old
14.2 Hands
Standard bred
Gelding

Jo Jo is currently in training for ground work only. He is a good companion for geldings
(he hasn’t been evaluated with mares).
Due to mechanical founder he will not be able to withstand long periods of exercise.
Adopted Fall 2005

Lacer -
14 Years Old
15.1 Hand
Pinto Pony
Mare
Lacer arrived in June of 2005 and is currently in Rehab recovering from what we believe was a vehicular accident. According to our veterinarian he should make a full recovery within 6 months (with a lot of TLC and veterinary care) and would then begin an exercise program based on his individual needs.
Adopted Spring 2005

Layla
6 Years Old
16.2 Hands
Bay TB
Mare

Layla is a sweet mare with a lot of potential. She enjoys human affection and is very intelligent. She is doing well with round pen training and is a fun ride under saddle. She has been ridden at the walk, trot and canter and needs an intermediate rider to teach her the rest. If you are looking for a rewarding project Layla could be it!
Adopted Fall 2005

Mambo
3 1/2 Years Old
16 Hands
Bay TB
Gelding

Mambo is as sweet as they come with a ton of personality. He enjoys being the center of attention and loves being around people. He has wonderful ground manners and acts like the gentleman that he is. He has been started under saddle, is quiet and accepting of a rider, but is green and does not know much at this time. He has no limitations and will go on to be a wonderful all around horse.
Adopted Summer 2005

Nehi
4 Years Old
14.2 Hands
Gray/Roan Arabian Mare

Nehi is a sweet mare with unlimited potential. She has been started under saddle at the walk and trot and is doing well in her training. She is a curious mare and has a ton of personality. She is young and green however, so she will require a trainer working with her as she is still
learning. Nehi will eventually turn all gray and should go on to make a wonderful all around horse.
Adopted Spring 2005

Nestle

Adopted Spring 2005

Simba

Adopted Spring 2005

Xenophon
9 Years Old

Xenophon is a very sweet donkey who is shy of new faces. He came to DEFHR as a stallion. His owner gave him up because he could no longer provide proper care for him. His hooves had not been trimmed for a while. He loves attention, but needs a little work on leading. His best friend is Arnie, a TB Gelding, who never leaves his side.
Adopted Spring 2005

Xtra Copy
9 Years Old
15.2 Hands
Bay TB Mare.

Xtra is now in training under saddle and doing well. She is learning to carry weight and yield to leg and rein. She has been trained in the John Lyons methods for the past two years, is responsive to the bit and is suitable for an experienced rider. She gets along well with the other mares and loves human affection. Xtra will make a wonderful all around horse. She has no limitations.
