Alley is a VERY sweet mare with a very laid back temperament. She has wonderful ground manners and is not spooked by anything. She is best ridden western in a hackamore or with very little contact on the mouth. She is trained well(western) and aims to please. Will make a nice pleasure/trail horse. She will do best with an intermediate rider who rides western. She has no limitations.

Bailey is a sweetie who was chained to a tree before coming to DEFHR. He has great ground manners and behaves wonderfully under saddle. Bailey will make a nice pleasure horse for children or a small adult. He is quiet and acts like the gentleman that he is. He does have a weight limit of 150lbs.

Currently in training under saddle at walk, trot, and canter. She is a flashy mare that looks and acts more like Quarter Horse than TB! She is a very smart young lady who learns quickly. She has no limitations and would make someone a perfect all around horse.

Easy Eve is a wonderful mare with a lot to offer to someone. She has had a hard past, but is hopeful for a bright future. She does walk, trot, canter beautifully and is a dream on the trails. She has an old injury to her hind left leg, but it being treated correctly and is almost healed. She is sound, sweet, and loves affection. She is an awesome hunter or dressage prospect. She does need an intermediate rider.

Ice is a very private donkey in the field and generally stays to herself. She is independent but likes to be loved on. She has been tacked and ridden. She is quiet but a little rusty under saddle. Great for giving kids rides around the farm.

Kris Kringle came to us the day before Christmas 2002 along with his mother. He was a sad case of abuse and neglect, but is hopeful for a better future. Little Kris Kringle is as sweet as they come with a lot of personality. He is very well behaved and follows the rules nicely. He is looking for someone to love him and play with him for the rest of his life. Great prospect for a kids show horse/4 H pony with a little more time and training under his belt

He has been evaluated under saddle and has TONS of training in him. He is always a gentleman and would make a wonderful pleasure/trail horse. Louie would love to be your next addition to your family.

Major has spunk under saddle but is still very responsive to all the aids. He is well mannered on the ground and eager to please. He may have been used for barrels or games. Major goes English and Western. He is a VERY fun ride. He needs an intermediate rider as he does have some get up and go.

"Tuck" is an awesome pony with unlimited potential. He is currently in training and learning to accept a rider. With consistent work from a trainer, he could be a wonderful show horse/4 H pony. He is extremely fancy and smart - a horse that could go anywhere and do anything. Tuck has no limitations.

Nickers came to the farm as a stray from animal control. He has since been gelded and has been evaluated by staff. He is a cute little guy but is young and green and requires an experience trainer working with him. He would make a wonderful lead line/kids 4 H pony with a little more time under his belt.

Quri came to Days End in July 2004 along with her mother Rocca, as her owners no longer were able to care for her anymore. She is young and cute, and loves to play with anything she finds in her paddock. She loves to be groomed and enjoys being the center of attention. Quri has been
recently weaned from her mom and looks forward to a new start with a family who will love her for the rest of her life. She does need to go to someone who has experience in training or someone who will work with a trainer.

Slippers came to DEFHR in March of 2003. She came as a sign over from Washington County, MD. Her hooves had not been trimmed in quite a while and looked like slippers, hence the name. Once she was rehabilitated and evaluated, we determined that she had experience with both being ridden and as a cart pony. Slippers has a very sane mind and loves people.

Cute Winston arrived at Days End in June 2003. He has foundered in the past but seems to be doing great after we had his feet trimmed. He seems to be a very private, but a very sweet donkey, just in need of a friend. He is still shy and a little scared, but warms up to people nicely.

Xanadu is a sweet guy looking for a permanent home. He is shy of new faces at first, but is hopeful to make a friend. He likes attention, but can sometimes have a mind of his own. He is over weight so he needs to stay in a dry paddock or only have limited grass.

XOXO came to DEFHR as an owner give up. He bought her from the auction to give her a chance at a better life, but XoXo’s bills were too costly to manage and he signed her over to us. She is incredibly sweet and loves kids grooming her! She is not rideable and has foundered in the past. She also has heaves that is controlled by medication. XoXo is a really nice mare who wanted nothing more in life than to have a permanent home she can call her own.XoXo found her home with the Duttons and another Days End pony, Nikita.

Yogi arrived at DEFHR in July 2003. He was impounded by animal control along with two other horses named Alley and Zepplin for starvation and neglect. Yogi was extremely underweight, covered in rain rot, and had really bad scratches on his hind legs. We have just started evaluating him under saddle.

Zeus is in training under saddle at w/t/c and over cross rails. He has unlimited potential, but just doesn't know much. With a little more training he will make a wonderful horse. He is VERY FLASHY! He was recently gelded and can act like a stallion at times. He will need a trainer working with him. Zeus is definitely one of a kind!
