CAREER GOALS
- Ensure high quality care, and to facilitate access to care, for the rescue and rehabilitation of abused and neglected horses.
- To manage delivery of said care so as to be the most cost-effective to Days End Farm Horse Rescue
- Take a leadership role in raising awareness of the prevalence of horse neglect and abuse.
- To promote education for young people, horse owners and the animal welfare agencies in Maryland to help minimize the occurrence, and improve the recognition, of horse abuse and neglect.
- To become a trainer for other agencies and individuals interested in horse rescue and rehabilitation.
- To improve the efficacy of workers providing investigative, rescue and rehabilitative services.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- 1989 to Present, President and Co-Founder
Days End Farm Horse Rescue, Inc. - Lisbon, Maryland
Founded DEFHR on privately owned property to rescue and rehabilitate abused and neglected horses. Received non-profit status in 1991 and earned accreditation as cruelty investigator in 1995. Initiated, with the aid of the Board of Directors, articles of incorporation and bylaws by which the organization is run. Successfully developed positive working relationships with the majority of counties in the state of Maryland, and earned the respect of special interest groups and equine welfare organizations across the country. Thirteen years experience as Farm Manager and equine, veterinary critical and long-term caretaker. Directly responsible for the rescue, rehabilitation and placement of approximately 1000 equine, who would otherwise have suffered additional injury, illness and, most likely, death.

Supervised administrative budget and a staff of 9 employees. Duties included: Employee relations, customer relations, retail sales, purchasing, set up inventory control system, deliveries, payroll, federal and corporate taxing, sales charting, accounts payable and receivable, collections, and bookkeeping.
