Adopt a Friend for Life at
Days End Farm Horse Rescue
on August 5 |
Lisbon, Maryland – June 19, 2006 – Days End Farm Horse Rescue will hold its first annual adoption parade on August 5, 2006 (rain date is August 12) at 5:00 p.m. The parade will feature a wonderful array of horses that were victims of abuse and neglect, but have now been rehabilitated. Through the patient care of volunteers, staff, and the veterinarian team at Days End, these horses are now available for adoption. “Everyone is welcomed to view these horses on parade and tour the farm,” said Kathleen Schwartz, Executive Director and co-founder of Days End. “The horses that will be showcased are looking for a new beginning. Dedicated volunteers and staff have given of themselves to help these deserving animals. We are thankful that the difficult times are behind them, and they are ready to be adopted by loving new owners. Join us on August 5 for food and fun. Come meet our wonderful horses. ”Days End Farm Horse Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer based, humane organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of abused and neglected horses. The Days End Farm Horse Rescue was founded in 1989. Since then, Days End has provided humane care to almost 1,000 severely abused and neglected horses by offering quality care, rehabilitation, foster care, and adoption to qualified, pre-screened homes. The adoption parade will feature magnificent horses of different breeds. They include Cotton Candy, a chestnut Thoroughbred; Fibi, a red roan Quarterhorse, Hip Hop, an Arabian chestnut; Gatsby, a dark bay Canadian Thoroughbred; Maggie May, a sorrel Chincoteague, and a very cute little mule with a lot of personality named Corduroy (“Cordy”). They will be joined on August 5 by a number of other marvelous horses available for adoption. The gate opens at 4:00 pm and the parade will begin at 5:00. The farm is located at 15856 Frederick Road (Route 144), Lisbon, Maryland. The telephone number is (301) 854-5037 or (410) 442-1564.All horses adopted from Days End are current with their shots, coggins, trimming, worming, and have been vetted. At the time of adoption, copies of all medical and history records for the horse are given to the adopter. A minimal donation is requested for an adoption to help defer the costs of rehabilitating future horses. Those interested in adopting right away do not have to wait for the adoption parade. Interested parties may contact Days End at anytime to schedule a visit to the farm. For those unable to adopt, there are other ways to help. They include being a volunteer at the farm, providing foster care to horses in rehabilitation, offering financial sponsorship for severely abused horses, and making donations and gifts. You can find out more about these programs by stopping by the Days End Farm Horse Rescue or visiting their website |
