Days End Farm Horse Rescue Needs New Farm

"OUR CASE STATEMENT"----ENSURING A STABLE FUTURE

Naming Opportunities | Auction Item Form

Sponsorship Opportunities | Advertising Opportunities

Our Goal | The Need

The “Barn Raising Gala” will be held Saturday, April 3, 2004 from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the Avenel Country Club in Potomac, Maryland. We would love to have you join us.

The Gala will be an evening of good company, music, cocktails and hors-d’oeuvres followed by a formal dinner. Attendees will be by invitation only and will include those from the Greater Washington community, including corporate, political and local community leaders.

In addition to the festivities, a silent auction with exquisite items is planned. Proceeds will benefit directly our capital campaign for a much needed new farm and educational facility in the Washington metropolitan area.

Can we count on your support for a sponsorship? We have several levels of Event Sponsorships which are available, as well as advertising opportunities in our Gala program

Since moving to the facility we currently lease in 1995, Days End has grown from a small non-profit sheltering only a few horses annually, to a full scale and well respected rescue and rehabilitation facility housing on average 50 – 60 horses at any given time. Our budget, and corresponding donations, has grown from $50,000 annually to over $600,000 (a 10% growth rate when computed on an annualized basis). In 2002 alone, over 500 adults and children volunteered their efforts in helping the Farm to achieve its mission.

Moreover, we have markedly increased our focus on humane education, both on the local and national levels. Since its inception, the Farm has successfully established The Equine Rescue and Rehabilitation Information Network, conducted hundreds of humane education talks with surrounding schools and hands-on training for animal control officers from across the United States, published a book entitled “Guidelines for Establishing a Horse Rescue Facility,” all while increasing our community outreach to over 30,000 individuals and professionals.

As Days End continues to grow, so does the need for adequate space all the horses and programs require. Our current, 16 acre, location is now literally bursting at the seams, with every square inch in use. Recently, our eight-acre critical care and isolation barn, it too a leased facility located just up the road from the main farm, is for sale. And yet, abused and neglected horses continue to arrive, looking for help, and a new chance for a quality of life and a loving owner/family. Therefore, our New Farm Campaign has been created to help with the purchase of a turnkey piece of property. Our “Barn Raising Gala” is the kick-off for this campaign.
